About Our Client
My client is now recruiting for a new Financial Accountant role based in Leatherhead.
Job Description
* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.
* Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
* Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
* Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
* Process and manage accounts payable and receivable.
* Prepare tax filings, VAT returns, and support external audits.
* Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support business decisions.
* Assist in improving financial systems and processes for better efficiency and accuracy.
* Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting best practices and regulatory changes.
The Successful Applicant
* May be studying towards an Accountancy qualification.
* May have previous experience working as a Financial Accountant.
* Proven experience (2+ years) in a financial accounting role.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
* Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is a plus).
* High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
