FCRMS Asset Management Business Systems Team Senior Advisor

The Environment Agency creates better places for people, wildlife, and the environment. We put the climate emergency at the heart of everything we do and help society adapt to environmental challenges such as flooding, drought, sea‑level rise and coastal change.

The Asset Management Business System team supports all EA teams and suppliers in the use of carbon tools and ensures that carbon management is a core part of our Asset Management System, working alongside other supported tools for the infrastructure programme and asset management.


Key Responsibilities

* Support EA and external users of operational carbon tools.
* Deliver a range of services to users of carbon tools and maintain these services.
* Agree and maintain services with a range of different user groups.
* Serve as a senior product user for digital improvement projects of our carbon tools and data.
* Plan and manage user activities for implementation of carbon tool changes and improvements.
* Manage the resources and funding for carbon tool support and maintenance.
* Work with operational carbon communities and national leads as required.
* Collaborate with IT suppliers, EA colleagues, FCRM, Operations teams across England, Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS), Local Authorities, Water Companies, Internal Drainage Boards and the civil engineering supply chain.


Required Experience and Skills

* Significant experience and knowledge in carbon management for infrastructure assets, projects or programmes.
* Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes.
* Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services.
* Experience developing training and documentation.
* Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communication.
* Ability to analyse, evaluate and implement improved ways of working.
* Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
* A focus on efficiency, innovation and quality.
* Strong customer orientation and relationship building.
* Capability to manage oneself and work independently.


Location and Working Conditions

The role is predominantly office‑based, but occasional travel will be required. Any office location is acceptable.
