Job Description
The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body. We oversee thousands of qualifications available in schools, colleges, and workplaces, not only in Scotland but worldwide.
We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our operations directorate within the National Qualifications Quality Assurance - Verification and Approval (NQVA) team. This team plays a vital role in delivering quality assurance tasks, including processing approval requests for delivering SQA qualifications and verifying their delivery.
This dynamic role involves working across SQA with multiple teams. You will be responsible for achieving critical internal and external KPIs and SLAs, with a strong understanding of project delivery. This position requires someone eager to engage directly with the NQVA team, colleagues, and stakeholders, contributing to continuous improvements and strategic development.
The successful candidate will join a well-established team and will be expected to lead and manage initiatives to meet stakeholder demands and business objectives, including developing new or improved processes and procedures. Key duties include:
1. Leading and managing an operational team to meet targets
2. Driving change and continuous improvement initiatives to adapt to evolving business needs
Essential skills and experience include:
1. Experience working in a high-pressure operational environment
2. Effective communication skills for diverse audiences
3. Ability to recognize emerging operational needs and capitalize on opportunities
4. Resilience under pressure and ability to meet tight deadlines
Applicants should have at least SCQF Level 9 education or relevant experience.
