CAD Technician
ESP operates as an Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO), New independent and Variation (NAV- a water and sewage distributor) and an Independent Gas Transporter (IGT) in a highly competitive sector. We own and operate over 100,000 electricity and water assets providing "last mile" connectivity to residential and commercial premises.
Our business model is to adopt networks constructed by our accredited partners and to operate and manage these networks safely and efficiently. These arrangements are subject to contractual and legal arrangements which must be robust and well managed to ensure best outcomes for ESP.
Role Purpose
You'll work closely with the design and legal team, to support from a CAD design perspective on important District Heating, Electricity, Gas and Water projects, gaining exposure to a variety of projects that challenge you to think creatively and enhance your expertise. You'll also enjoy a diverse work environment where your ability to adapt to new technologies and processes will be valued. Your input will help ensure accurate and timely project delivery, making a real impact on our clients and the communities they serve.
Key Responsibilities
* Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designers and make modifications to existing drawings.
* Interact with our Legal team, Engineers and Designers to understand their design requirements.
* Generate detailed electrical drawings, for HV distribution purposes.
* Ensure drawings are compliant with HM Land Registry, technical standards, regulatory standards and/or health and safety standards (as appropriate).
* Translate data between various formats (between CAD and GIS).
* Ensure all drawings contain required information / attribute data in suitable formats, to enable data and drawings to be transferred into a centralised data store
Person Specification
* Proven experience with AutoCAD
* CAD related professional qualification is preferable
* GIS, within the utilities sector
* Have experience in the uses of using standard GIS software (preferably within the utilities sector)
* Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Clear and efficient communication skills.
* Proficiency in using office 365 apps
* Planning & organising skills with ability to work to deadlines.
* Effective decision maker
* Ability to document work in line with Design Control & Quality Systems
