Operations Manager

Are you an experienced Operations Manager looking to take ownership of a busy 3PL site and lead a high-performing team? Our client, a well-established logistics business, is looking for a strong people leader to drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer service, and support ongoing growth.
The role
1. Lead, motivate and develop a team of supervisors and operatives (circa 25 staff).
2. Oversee all warehouse operational functions, ensuring a safe, compliant and efficient working environment.
3. Deliver agreed customer service levels while managing costs and resources effectively.
4. Maintain and improve Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and site procedures.
5. Manage stock control, site KPIs, reporting and operational documentation.
6. Support customer relationships, dealing with service queries and identifying opportunities for improvement.
7. Deputise for the General Manager and support with budgeting, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Drive performance, manage underperformance, support training needs and lead by example.
Experience
9. Experience supervising or managing teams within a warehouse or 3PL environment.
10. Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a positive, performance-driven culture.
11. Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
12. Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards (NEBOSH / IOSH desirable).
13. Experience using WMS and confident IT skills.
14. An understanding of budgets, cost control and P&L basics.
15. The drive to develop professionally - CPC, Known Consignor & Responsible Officer training can be provided.
