Role responsibilities
The UNO Programme aims to create a single, integrated platform for all of Transport for Wales\\\' public services.
This is a digital transformation programme to support customers and colleagues to plan and pay for their journeys, to include a user-friendly digital interface (new website and application) and will allow customers to plan journeys, purchase tickets, and access real-time information for multiple types of transport. This will be inclusive and include support for those who cannot use digital interfaces.
By simplifying multiple ways we travel by providing a seamless customer experience, UNO is projected to increase sustainable journeys, generate revenue, and deliver significant social and economic benefits for Wales.
The purpose of the IT Project Manager role is to deliver IT and Digital Services related projects to improve the effectiveness of TfW as an organisation and to deliver improvements to the user experience of public transport services in line with Welsh Government (WG) transport policy and strategy.
* Be responsible for leading and delivering key IT and Digital Services related projects, primarily in the public transportation arena, predominantly rail and bus, taking accountability for the application of robust project lifecycle methodologies (such as MSP, APM or PRINCE 2), implementation of project plans, attainment of key milestones and resource management to ensure these are completed safely to time, cost and quality.
* Provide a professional and effective project management service, including project governance, reporting, technical working groups and executive steering groups, in accordance with the required processes and timelines to ensure the projects are aligned to TfW processes and delivered to cost and quality.
* Manage project teams by collaborating with internal colleagues, external contractors, stakeholders, and supply chain to ensure projects meet desired outcomes in terms of scope, timescales and cost.
* Manage the project budget by liaising with the Senior Project Manager, Finance Business Partner, Supply Chain Manager, and the Programme Manager, escalating any variances where required to ensure costs remain within the agreed budget.
Who we\\\'re looking for
* Previous experience of managing the delivering IT and Digital Services related projects.
* Have a project management qualification such as MSP, APM or PRINCE2 or similar.
* Previous experience of managing a budget, including forecasting and monitoring spend.
* Experience of working and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, as well as transport clients.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
