The role
Business Studies & Economics Teacher | KS4 & KS5 | Hertfordshire Location: Stevenage area, Hertfordshire Start: September 2026 Contract: Permanent, Full Time Salary: MPS to UPS (Fringe Pay Scale) Business Studies and Economics are thriving subjects within this successful Hertfordshire secondary school. A permanent opportunity has become available for a Business Studies and Economics Teacher from September 2026. This Business Studies Teacher role includes teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5 alongside Economics at A Level within a well-established sixth form. Students are ambitious, engaged and respond well to teachers who can connect classroom learning to real businesses, current affairs and economic decision-making. The school has a strong academic culture, but what stands out is the level of collaboration between staff. Resources are shared, planning is supported and teachers are encouraged to focus on high-quality teaching rather than unnecessary bureaucracy. The department enjoys healthy student numbers and both Business and Economics are valued parts of the sixth form curriculum. Business Studies & Economics Teacher Role • Teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5 • Teaching A Level Economics • Preparing students for GCSE Business and A Level examinations • Supporting student progress across Business Studies and Economics • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities • Working within a collaborative sixth form department The Department Business and Economics attract strong uptake and are well regarded by students. Many continue their studies beyond sixth form, progressing to university courses, apprenticeships and careers linked to business, economics, finance and management. The department benefits from shared planning, established resources and a culture where staff support one another. Expectations are high, but teachers are given the tools and trust needed to do their jobs well.
