DWP is looking for experienced Senior Business Analysts to join a multidisciplinary team delivering impactful, transformational services across our department. The role sits within the Data & Analytics division, providing support for operational, analytical, and reporting needs, aiming to improve outcomes for citizens and enhance data quality and security.
As a senior member of the Business Analyst community, you will lead business analysis activities for complex service improvements, translating business and user needs into actionable outcomes. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to align project priorities with strategic goals and collaborate with user-centred design teams to identify process improvements and manage risks. Your communication skills will ensure shared understanding across technical and business teams.
In this role, you’ll also take on leadership responsibilities, support capability building, contribute to recruitment efforts, and have opportunities for personal development and mentorship within DWP Analytics.
Embedded within a portfolio team, this role focuses on delivering the infrastructure and tools that enable data professionals to build, test, and deploy analytics solutions that support informed decision‑making. Through leading workshops, conducting interviews, and fostering collaboration, the work ensures services are strategically aligned and deliver tangible value to both users and the wider organisation.
Location: You’ll join us in our brilliant digital hub in Manchester, at St Peter’s Square. The area is well served by bus, train, and tram. We also offer a lock‑up and shower facilities in the basement for those who cycle to work.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model – you will spend some time working from home and some time in the hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £68,205.
Pension: You’ll receive a civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi‑time, plus all public holidays.
