Alumni Relations & Events Manager
Salary: £35,000-£37,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Alumni Relations & Events Manager to play a key role in engaging a global alumni community and supporting a wider development and fundraising programme. This is a varied, hands‑on role requiring excellent event‑management skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and a proactive, service‑oriented approach.
The Role
Reporting to the Development Director, you will:
* Manage and deliver a full programme of alumni engagement, donor cultivation and stewardship events
* Lead events from concept to completion, including budgets, risk assessments, logistics and post‑event evaluation
* Support and enhance alumni engagement initiatives and benefits
* Work closely with alumni volunteers, including committees and councils
* Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of data protection and confidentiality
* Represent the Development Office internally and externally as required
The role involves regular evening and weekend work and some travel.
About You
* Proven experience planning and delivering successful events
* Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
* Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
* Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior and external audiences
* The ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and accurately
* A strong alignment with the ethos and values of an educational or membership‑based organisation
* Experience in alumni relations, higher education, charity or use of CRM systems (such as Raisers Edge) is desirable but not essential
