About the School Many pupils have EHCPs and present with SEND and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting focuses on helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop independence and life skills, and successfully re-engage with education. This is a nurturing, structured environment with a strong emphasis on relationships, consistency and emotional wellbeing. Staff work as a close-knit, hands-on team, offering excellent peer support and shared responsibility for pupil progress. The Role As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to access their learning and manage their behaviour positively. Your responsibilities will include: Providing in-class, small group and 1:1 support Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management Helping children develop confidence, resilience and key life skills Encouraging engagement and positive attitudes towards learning Working collaboratively with school staff and external professionals Requirements To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Assistant you will: DESIRED: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or Level 2/3 Early Years Educator DESIRED: Able to drive Ideally have prior school experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behavioural needs. Be confident in behaviour management skills to de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour. To mentor and engage with the pupils, delivering specifically designed educational packages.
