Behaviour Support Assistant Havant (driving essential) £462.80 - £500 per week (salary is dependant on qualifications/experience) April – Long term cover Refer a friend scheme – £125 for each of you! Vision for Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant on a full-time basis for a SEN school, near Havant to start in April for maternity cover! About the role Are you someone who can connect with children quickly, stay calm under pressure and make learning feel safe and achievable again? Vision for Education is currently working in partnership with a specialist school to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant for an exciting and rewarding role. About the School Many pupils have EHCPs and present with SEND and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting focuses on helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop independence and life skills, and successfully re-engage with education. This is a nurturing, structured environment with a strong emphasis on relationships, consistency and emotional wellbeing. Staff work as a close-knit, hands-on team, offering excellent peer support and shared responsibility for pupil progress. The Role As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to access their learning and manage their behaviour positively. Your responsibilities will include: Providing in-class, small group and 1:1 support Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management Helping children develop confidence, resilience and key life skills Encouraging engagement and positive attitudes towards learning Working collaboratively with school staff and external professionals Requirements To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Assistant you will: DESIRED: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or Level 2/3 Early Years Educator DESIRED: Able to drive Ideally have prior school experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behavioural needs. Be confident in behaviour management skills to de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour. To mentor and engage with the pupils, delivering specifically designed educational packages. You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally. Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
