Your newpany is recruiting a Category Manager to work within the Procurement section of the Finance Department.
Leading on Procurement projects for goods, works or services, as allocated, being responsible for the preparation and delivery of amercially focused category management strategy for your allocated categories within the relevant category portfolio. You will aim at ensuring continuity of supply, delivering value for money, influencing the wider impact of procurement on the Welsh economy, sustainability agenda and managingmercial and legislative risk relating to Procurement.
Your new role
1. Responsible for proactively project managing the delivery of multiple end-to-end procurement processes and practices within their client group concurrently, ensuring potential issues are anticipated and planned for within long-term timeframes. The post holder will manage theplete set of procurement activities, from pre-procurement activities to contract awards, in line with agreed Procurement Policy, Procedures and current Regulations.
2. Collaborate to make rmendations for the ongoing development of established internal processes and procedures.
3. Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to prioritise procurement activity, resource allocation and timescales for delivery.
4. Create sub-category strategies for multiple allocated category areas and deliver relevant strategies in coordination with Senior Category Manager and stakeholders.
5. Build influential internal relationships to ensure Procurement objectives are fully understood and embedded.
6. Support contract management of key suppliers.
What you'll need to succeed
7. MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS or degree in relevant business-related subject as well as experience of qualifications in project management but not limited to Prince 2 Knowledge, Skills and Experience
8. Substantial experience of working with procurement, supply chain or relevantmercial environment including experience of liaising the legal teams and/or suppliers around agreeing terms of contract.
9. Evidence of experience and knowledge of specific product or service markets, with the ability to exploit them through the application of well-developed procurement skills.
10. Evidence of using negotiation or influencing stakeholders and/ or suppliers to make efficiencies Ability tomunicate conceptually detailed andplex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people.
11. Evidence of achieving savings and/or value through procurement activities.
12. Proven experience in developing new processes and procedures.
