Overview
We are seeking skilled Manual Machinists to join our clients team, machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries. While time-served experience is preferred, it is not essential. You will work with a range of stainless alloys, ensuring high-quality precision machining.
Shifts
06:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday
20:00-06:00 Monday night start - Friday morning finish
Pay: £15.78 - £22.33 Including shift allowances
Key Responsibilities
* Machine large castings to specified drawings and tolerances.
* Operate various manual machines, including lathes and horizontal & vertical borers.
* Ensure production deadlines are met efficiently.
* Perform visual inspections of machined castings.
* Properly mark swarf drums for alloy identification.
* Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
* Maintain safety standards in all activities in line with company procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to produce precise components.
* Proficiency in working to tight tolerances and using measuring equipment accurately.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* Self-motivated but also an effective team player.
* Flexible approach to work, including overtime and shift work.
* Solid understanding of health & safety, environmental standards, and quality control.
