Are you an experienced andcompassionate leader with a passion for improving the mental health andwell-being of children and young people? We are looking for a dedicated TeamManager to lead our CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) and Primary InterventionTeam (PIT). We are dedicated to ensuring that children, young people andfamilies receive the right care and support, at the right time.
The Single Point of Access(SPA) is the first point of contact for referrals into Wakefield CAMHS. ThePrimary Intervention Team (PIT) delivers early support, offers advice andevidence-based interventions.
Your role as a CAMHS TeamManager will require you to:
Lead and manage the team, ensuring highstandard of care and service delivery.
Develop and maintain strong workingrelationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.
Promote a culture of continuous learning,professional development and staff well-being.
Monitor performance, quality and outcomes,implementing improvements where necessary.
Management of resources and line management ofstaff members within the time.
The role involves acombination of leadership, operational management, and strategic planning toensure services run efficiently and meeting the needs of children, young peopleand their families.

Main duties of the job
Provide day-to-day management of the team, holdexcellent communication skills and ability to form positive workingrelationships with Partners and Stakeholders.
Lead on recruitment, retention and induction ofstaff.
Conducting managerial supervision, appraisalsand oversight of individuals development.
Managing performance and absence/staffwellbeing.
Ensure the team are compliant with mandatorytraining.
Support implementation and development of theservice and delivery.
Managing complaints from young people, familiesand professionals.
Motivate, engage, empower and develop the team.
Lead and coordinate team communication,including chairing regular team meetings.
Approving annual leave and ensure safe staffingwithin the team.
Work closely with the team and the ClinicalLead / Team Managers.

Job responsibilities
Thepost-holder will be responsible for the leadership, co-ordination andmanagement of CAMHS related to meeting the needs of children and young peopleas identified by the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will carry asmall caseload.
To facilitate and be responsible for effectivemulti-disciplinary / multi-agency team working to meet the needs of all whoaccess the service.
To ensure that mechanisms are in place tomanage, monitor and review clinical and admin staffs within the services.
To ensure the effective management andcontinuous development of the team, providing leadership to all staff whichencourages the development of a qualitative, evidence based service.
To promote safeguarding and the welfare ofchildren, young people and staffs.
To manage the demand and capacity within theteam in line with service targets, capacity and demand.
Ensure effective co-ordination and leadershipof the team in delivering agreed assessment and treatment plans as identifiedby the multi-disciplinary team.
Ensure that individual needs led assessment andtreatment plans are evidence based, effectively co-ordinated and outcomesachieved within agreed timescales as directed by the multi-disciplinary team.
Actively encourage and develop service user andcarer involvement in the development of individual assessment and treatmentplans, and the development of the service.
Encourage and be responsible for thedevelopment of a multi-disciplinary team approach in the identification anddelivery of assessment and treatment plan.
Develop aculture within the team that supports research, evidence based practice,innovative practice, quality initiatives and is continuously analytical inseeking to improve service delivery.
Support and lead the teaching, assessing andmentoring of students within the service.
Support clinicians to compile reports for themulti-disciplinary agency team as and when required
Promote the safeguarding of children in linewith Trust policies and procedures.
Be responsible for policy and servicedevelopment and enable other staff within the service to do so.
Propose and implement policy changes as anintegral part of the job which impacts on the whole multi-disciplinaryteam.
Lead on operational development of the pathwaysand work in partnership with the portfolio leads in developing the clinicalpathways in line with the service specification.
Operationally manage and ensureeffective implementation and delivery of pathways.
Ensure that staff are fully aware of and complywith agreed Trust policies and procedures.
Assist the Service Manager in identifying andrecording information that will assist in the performance management of theservice.
Be responsible for the implementation of the changeagenda in line with the modernisation strategy within the service.

Person Specification
Experience
* Substantial post qualification experience, some of which must be working with Children, young people and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting.
* Experience of working in different cultural contexts.
* Knowledge and experience of working with Equality and Diversity.
* Multidisciplinary team working.
* Inter-agency liaison and consultation.
* Experience of teaching and assessing.
* To have experience in recruitment and retention and sickness absence.
* Experience of providing highly specialist advice and supervision to other professionals.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance for working with children, young people, mental health and safeguarding.
* Evidence of advanced clinical/therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health.
* Extensive experience in assessment and risk management and ability to implement evidence based practice.
* Advanced experience of safeguarding children and young people.
* Experience of community settings.
Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification, e.g. nursing, or other professional allied to medicine.
* Dip SW or relevant mental health profession.
* Membership of professional body.
* First level qualification/degree/Certificate in Management Studies or equivalent experience.
* Post graduate qualification in mental health (e.g. CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling).
* A teaching and assessing qualification.
