Series A BioTech | £11M Raised | Precision Medicine & Proteomics

💰 Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + Equity Options

About the Company

We’re partnered with a Series A BioTech startup that has recently raised £11M to accelerate the development of its breakthrough proteomics platform.

By integrating proprietary technology with advanced mass spectrometry and computational analytics, the company is pioneering a new era of biomarker discovery — delivering diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment insights that enable precision medicine at scale.

Their platform is already being applied in clinical trials and drug discovery programs across neurodegeneration, oncology, and metabolic disease. Backed by leading venture funds and advisors from world-class academic institutions, they’re building a science-first, data-driven culture dedicated to transforming patient outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior Bioinformatician, you’ll be at the centre of the company’s data and discovery efforts — analysing, visualising, and interpreting complex proteomics datasets to uncover insights that drive both internal R&D and external collaborations.

Reporting directly to the CSO, you’ll develop and automate analytical workflows, build statistical models linking proteomic data to biological and clinical outcomes, and play a key role in scaling the company’s computational capabilities as it grows.

This role is ideal for a bioinformatician who wants to combine deep technical expertise with strategic impact — helping shape the future of data-driven biotech.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyse, visualise, and interpret large-scale proteomics datasets from LC-MS platforms (DIA, DDA, TMT, MRM).
* Apply statistical and machine learning methods (PCA, PLS-DA, regression models, volcano plots) to extract actionable insights.
* Build models linking proteomic data to clinical and phenotypic outcomes.
* Integrate experimental data with public databases to identify novel biomarkers and biological pathways.
* Produce publication-quality reports, figures, and visualisations for internal teams, collaborators, and publications.
* Automate and streamline data processing workflows (Python, R).
* Collaborate cross-functionally with wet-lab scientists, leadership, and pharma partners to ensure timely project delivery.
* Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Why Join?

🌍 Scientific Impact – Your work will directly accelerate drug development and enable more personalised therapies.

📈 Career Growth – As a Series A company, responsibilities and opportunities will grow fast alongside the business.

⚙️ Autonomy & Ownership – You’ll help define the bioinformatics strategy and shape how data drives decisions.

🤝 Collaborative Culture – Work in a dynamic, science-driven environment with global partners and minimal bureaucracy.

💡 Rewards – Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and flexibility (remote/hybrid).

Qualifications & Experience

* PhD (or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
* Strong experience in proteomics data analysis and visualisation.
* Proven ability in statistical modelling and handling complex biological datasets.
* Skilled in Python or R for data analysis and workflow automation.
* Strong communicator — capable of presenting complex insights to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualities

* Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills.
* Creative problem-solver with a passion for data-driven discovery.
* Motivated by meaningful science and improving human health.

If this sounds like you, you'll fit right in.
