Overview
Engineering Manager - Enabling Works & Earthworks, Sizewell C, Suffolk. Site based. The role is part of the Civil Works Alliance delivering enabling works and earthworks for the Sizewell C project.
Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and coordinate construction engineering for the Enabling Works and Earthworks during the delivery phase.
* Ensure Engineering Delivery Excellence through adoption of engineering processes, procedures and best practice on site.
* Coordinate across Methods, Temporary/Permanent Works, Digital Engineering, Quality, Materials and Survey.
* Establish the organisation and resource structure with suitable skills to deliver technical requirements.
* Work with technical leads, client and stakeholders to manage complex technical interfaces.
* Collaborate with procurement, commercial, information management, digital engineering and project controls to implement robust project management for delivery.
* Establish and manage a delivery strategy in line with industry procedures, Civil Works alliance and Sizewell C.
* Support the project with right-first-time delivery of engineering activities for earthworks and enabling works.
What we’re looking for
* Essential
* Construction experience, including Temporary Works and HSQE
* Construction experience on large infrastructure projects including earthworks and structures
* Good understanding of earthworks (geology, materials, methods)
* Good understanding of detailed design drawings, technical specifications and quality management
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Project Management skills (planning, scope definition)
* Good Digital skills, including use of BIM
* Good self-discipline and time management
* Problem solving skills and creative thinking

* Marine structures
* Deep foundations
* Surveying on construction sites
* Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Civil engineering degree or equivalent
* Experience of managing temporary works
* Experience of managing surface water and groundwater in earthworks
* Desirable
* Chartered or working towards chartership
