Fylde Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to lead on the design and delivery of innovative recycling projects. As a Waste Minimisation Officer, you will play a key role in implementing the newSimpler Recycling Regulations, supporting our communities and businesses through this important transition.
About the Role
You will:
* Lead the development and implementation of recycling initiatives aligned with Defra’s Waste Reform, Simpler Recycling.
* Engage with residents and businesses to support service changes, including the introduction of food waste collections.
* Monitor performance and behaviour to drive participation through education and outreach campaigns.
* Administration of the Council’s commercial waste service.
* Work closely with the Waste & Fleet Manager to ensure compliance with evolving waste legislation.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience in designing and delivering large-scale projects and initiatives.
* Possesses excellent organisational, coordination, and data analysis skills.
* Understands the legal framework of waste management, including the Environmental Protection Act.
* Is proactive in promoting recycling and waste reduction initiatives.
* Is knowledgeable about current and upcoming government reforms, particularly Simpler Recycling.
* Holds a full UK driving licence.
