Gloucestershire Royal & Cheltenham General Hospitals – cross-site with some hybrid flexibility
from £41,563 - £48,863 dependent on experience | Permanent | 37.5 hours

A hands-on fire safety role where you’re out on site, solving real issues
We’re looking for a Fire Safety Officer to join GMS, working across a large and complex healthcare estate.
This is a role where you won’t be behind a desk – you’ll be out in clinical areas, plant rooms and departments, helping to identify risks, support teams and keep environments safe and compliant.
What you’ll be doing
Your work will include:
Carrying out fire risk assessments, inspections and audits
Supporting fire drills and evacuation planning
Investigating incidents, near misses and alarm activations
Advising teams on practical, proportionate fire safety measures
Delivering training and supporting fire wardens
Working with Estates and contractors to maintain safe environments
What we’re looking for
You’ll need to bring:
✔️ Experience in fire safety, estates or a related compliance role
✔️ Confidence in carrying out risk assessments or inspections
✔️ The ability to give clear, practical advice in operational settings
✔️ A proactive, problem-solving approach
✔️ An interest in continuing to develop your technical expertise
