We’re recruiting for an experienced Freelance Document Controller to join a leading construction contractor based near Saffron Walden. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all project documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth information flow between project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
You’ll be working across multiple live construction projects, supporting site and office teams to maintain up-to-date records and documentation control systems.
Key Responsibilities

Manage, distribute, and maintain project documents in accordance with company and client procedures
*
Ensure document control systems are up to date and compliant with QA requirements
*
Control drawing registers, RFI logs, and transmittals
*
Liaise with site and project teams to ensure document accuracy and timely updates
*
Support with document audits and reporting as required
*
Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive project information
Requirements
*
Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry
*
Strong knowledge of document control systems (e.g. Asite, Viewpoint, 4Projects, Aconex, etc.)
*
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*
Confident communicator with ability to liaise across project teams
*
Able to work independently and manage workload efficiently
*
Based within commuting distance of Saffron Walden
