Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Progress Chaser/HCA working within a busy 56‑bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU). This is an exciting opportunity for someone with great customer service and organisational skills to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment that receives high volumes of patient admissions.
Key responsibilities
* Facilitate the flow of patients throughout the unit, aid safe effective discharges, transfers and assist the nursing staff.
* Liaise with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and maintain effective communication with the discharge team, doctors, AMU coordinator and relatives.
* Attend ward meetings with the MDT throughout the shift to ensure timely handover of patient information.
* Perform venapuncture to enable discharge‑dependent bloods.
Working hours
* Progress chaser: 12 hours per week.
* Band 3 HCA: 24 hours per week.
