Job Description
Our client is looking for a Neighbourhood Officer to join them on a temporary basis until December 2025, probably longer.
Neighbourhood Officer – Housing Association – About The Role:
* Responsible for new and existing tenancy sign ups in accordance with the organisation’s lettings policies and procedures
* Support customers with changes to their tenancy including ASB
* Engage with customers to address rent and service charge arrears, to ensure that all stages of arrears recovery are followed
* Take part in annual tenancy checks to ensure customers are adhering to their tenancy agreements
* Work collaboratively and proactively with property services colleagues to ensure the efficient turnaround of empty homes

Delegated Authority:

Key Activities:
* Deliver tenancy and estate management services, including allocation and letting of empty homes and management of mutual exchanges.
* Address anti-social behaviour in partnership with the community and relevant agencies.
* Assist tenants in enjoying peaceful occupation of their homes, including attending County Court hearings for injunctions and possession.
* Work with the Tenancy Support Team to ensure tenancy sustainment and improve life opportunities.
* Collaborate with the Income Recovery Team to maximise the Association’s income and assist tenants in arrears.
* Provide tenants with advice on welfare benefits and other assistance to maximise household income.
* Develop good neighbourhood relations and lead resident consultations.
* Report safeguarding concerns and take appropriate legal action to safeguard tenants and the public.
* Promote and facilitate resident involvement in collaboration with the communications team.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory legislation.
Experience:
* Understanding of tenancy agreements, housing legislation, and welfare benefits relevant to tenants in social housing.
* Experience of dealing with ASB
* Experience in multi-agency/partnership working.
* Experience working with customers face-to-face and over the phone..
