About the Role
As Nursery Operational Manager, you will be the heart of the nursery — creating a calm, happy, and inclusive environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow. You will support and inspire your team, ensure high standards of care and safeguarding, and build trusting relationships with families.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support nursery staff with kindness, encouragement, and clear direction
* Ensure the nursery provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children
* Oversee daily operations while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere
* Support staff recruitment, training, wellbeing, and professional development
* Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety policies are fully embedded and followed
* Build strong, open relationships with parents and carers through regular communication
* Support appropriate learning and development programmes
* Manage nursery administration including records, resources, and budgeting
* Promote teamwork, inclusion, and a positive workplace culture
The Person We’re Looking For
* An experienced nursery manager or senior early years professional
* A compassionate leader who supports and inspires their team
* Strong knowledge of child development and early years best practice
* Confident working with children, families, and staff
* Warm, clear, and professional communication skills
* Well organised with a thoughtful, detail-focused approach
* A full driving licence is desirable
* NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent
* A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and children’s wellbeing
