You will be joining a large,plex estate with a diverse portfolio of clinical and non‑clinical environments, where facilities services play a critical role in supporting day-to-day operations. Your new role
As Facilities Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a multi‑skilled FM and maintenance team and ensuring the safe,pliant and effective delivery of both planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across several locations.This is a varied role thatbines hands-on maintenance delivery with office‑based supervisory and coordination duties. You will work closely with management to support statutorypliance, healthcare engineering standards and operational requirements, while acting as the first point of escalation for maintenance issues on site.Key responsibilities include:
1. Supervising and supporting a team of maintenance engineers across multiple trades
2. Allocating work via a CAFM/helpdesk system and managing priorities
3. Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance to agreed timescales
4. Providing technical guidance, mentoring and performance support to your team
5. Supporting recruitment, onboarding and probation reviews
6. Ensuringpliance with health and safety legislation, permits to work and RAMS
7. Maintaining accurate maintenance andpliance records for audit purposes
8. Supervising contractors and monitoring quality andpliance
9. Carrying out site audits and liaising with key stakeholders
10. Supporting service improvement initiatives and maintenance planning
11. Participating in out‑of‑hours arrangements when required
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this Facilities Supervisor role, you will bring strong leadership skills alongside a practical, proactive approach.Essential experience and skills:
12. Proven experience supervising an FM, maintenance or engineering team
13. Background and prior career experience within the FM or maintenance sectors
14. Strong work ethic and willingness to remain hands-on when required
15. Knowledge of planned maintenance systems (CAFM)
16. Sound understanding of health and safety legislation
17. Excellent organisational,munication and stakeholder management skills
18. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Essential qualifications:
19. Relevant trade qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
Desirable:
20. Experience working in healthcare or similarly regulated environments
21. Knowledge of HTM standards, water safety or fire safety
22. Contractor management experience
23. Supervisory or management qualification (ILM, NVQ Level 3 or above)
24. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety training
You will also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to lead meetings, and amitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
