Interior Designer Job in New Milton, Hampshire
A is now available with a workplace design and build practice based in New Milton, Hampshire. With a growing pipeline of work, our client is looking to bring on a new designer. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive generous benefits + hybrid working.
Established in 2008, the practice operates under a number of divisions and have gone from strength to strength over the years. This is a creative design role within the design & build sector. The successful candidate will have experience working from concept through to installation, liaising with both clients and contractors and will be able to work under the guidance of the head of design and with the support from a wider design team.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Transform briefs into compelling design concepts
2. Create moodboards, sketches, 2D/3D visuals and presentations as required
3. Conduct design research to support creative direction
4. Collaborate with clients to understand briefs
5. Present ideas effectively and update clients and teams on progress
6. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and colleagues to deliver projects on time and within budget
7. Manage project budgets by tracking costs and collaborating with finance team
8. Produce CAD drawings and review technical packages
9. Prepare documentation for visualisers and estimators
10. Develop and maintain detailed finished and FF&E schedules
11. Attend site visits, conduct detailed surveys and audits
12. Source and select materials, finishes, lighting, furniture and biophilic elements
13. Ensure all designs comply with building regulations and codes
14. Address site and design issues as needed, adapting to changes.
Required Skills & Experience
15. Degree in either Interior Design or Interior Architecture is required
16. Minimum of 5 years’ UK experience, with at least 2 years in workplace design and build
17. Experience with commercial projects over 10,000 sq ft is ideal
18. Skilled in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
19. Vectorworks experience is advantageous
20. Excellent communication, including pitching and presentation skills
21. Proven experience managing multiple projects across all stages
22. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as needed.
