An established and respected business in Redditch is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team. This is a full time role although they may consider the right person at 30 hours a week.
This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for running the accounts function across multiple entities, alongside some general office administration duties where hours allow.
To efficiently manage the accounting systems for a couple of small subsidiary companies through to trial balance as well as the main company accounts; while delivering a high standard of service to customers, directors, colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Key Accounting Responsibilities
* Managing accounts for multiple entities using Sage 50 and spreadsheets
* Purchase ledger and sales ledger
* Bank reconciliations
* VAT return preparation and submission
* Month-end processes
* Maintaining accurate financial records through to trial balance
* Basic credit control
Adhoc duties below
* Basic health & safety administration in a low-risk office environment
* Sourcing best-value utility suppliers
* Stationery ordering and general office administration-
The successful Accounts Assistant will have the following skills and experience
* hands-on accounts experience using Sage 50
* Solid experience with purchase and sales ledgers
* Bank reconciliations
* VAT returns
* Month-end accounting processes
In return you can expect to receive a basic salary for between £27,000-£30,000 depending on your skills and experience. This role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and being a trusted part of a close-knit team.
