Role Overview
This is a substantive, full‑time Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist position based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the first Academic Health Science Centre in the UK.
It is a rotational post offering opportunities to develop skills in the upper and lower quadrants, complex patients, hand therapy and pelvic health.
You will join a large, diverse team of Band 5–7 therapists, including rotational physiotherapists, specialist hand therapy and pelvic health physiotherapists, occupational therapists, therapy assistants and technicians. Imperial has strong links with research and the lead clinical academic for therapies is nested within the department.
Responsibilities
* Provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients in all service areas.
* Acquire and demonstrate knowledge of relevant pathologies, conditions, and normal values for the specialist area of physiotherapy.
* Take responsibility for own caseload and work autonomously within a defined service area, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties.
* Supervise and contribute to the training and development of therapy support workers, Band 5 physiotherapists and students.
* Undertake service development projects to enhance own and the team’s clinical practice.
* Make recommendations for service development and actively participate in implementing changes to practice or service protocols.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours weekend and overnight respiratory on‑call rota; rota details are held locally within departments. (Dependence on speciality area)
* Paediatrics only: Provide a 7‑day 24‑hour paediatric inpatient service during the acute inpatient rotation (rota details are local).
