* Salary: £37,938 - £40,476 (Pay award pending)
* Location: Sheffield (This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)

Are you a talented and motivated digital professional ready to play a key role in shaping the online presence of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA)? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Communications and Marketing Team and support the ongoing development and improvement of our primary corporate and travel websites.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to SYMCA's mission of creating a stronger, greener, fairer South Yorkshire by ensuring our digital platforms are accessible, user-friendly, and effective in communicating our work across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield.
This role is essential in translating our strategic vision into high-quality, accessible digital experiences for our stakeholders and the wider public.

Interviews will be held:
* 1st stage Tuesday 9th December on Teams
* 2nd stage Tuesday 16th December in person

About the role

As a Digital Officer, you will work closely with the Senior Digital Officer to support critical website projects and maintenance, ensuring our digital channels are performing at their best. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Website improvement: supporting the delivery of website projects, ensuring they are completed on time and align with user needs and marketing goals.
* Content creation & management: producing high-quality, accessible website content using Content Management Systems (CMS), basic HTML, and inline CSS.
* SEO expertise: assisting the Senior Digital Officer in delivering effective SEO.
* Accessibility & compliance: utilising accessibility tools to implement both content and technical improvements.
* Data analysis: assisting in analysing website and campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity.
* Technical collaboration: collaborating with developers to implement new features and resolve technical issues.
* Stakeholder support: providing guidance to content authors on publishing content and offering training on accessibility.



About you

We are looking for a highly capable and motivated individual with a passion for digital excellence. You will need to demonstrate strong communication, time management, and collaborative skills to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

You’ll bring:
* Educated to degree standard or have equivalent experience in digital marketing or website management.

Technical proficiency:
* Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and publishing content.
* Ability to code using basic HTML and inline CSS.
* Knowledge of SEO and practical experience with content strategies and on-page SEO.
* Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4) for reporting and recommending improvements.

Knowledge:
* Awareness of website accessibility standards (WCAG).
* Awareness of privacy legislation (GDPR).

Core Skills:
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Good time management and prioritisation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience working with a marketing team to support campaigns.

Desirable requirement:
* Experience with design tools such as Photoshop.
