Purpose of Job
The candidate will support the origination of private equity secondaries financings, single fund NAV facilities and single stock margin loans within Global Markets in a manner consistent with CIBC's Risk Framework. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused sales team. The incumbent's mandate is to provide exceptional service and support to clients, with a focus on activities that will increase the distribution of products within the network.
Main Objectives
• Adapt to dynamic conditions with creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit in order to meet the evolving demands of the marketplace.
* Play key senior role in managing and growing the desk's business, including new client development as well as ongoing client and transaction lifecycle management.
* Proactively identify, develop, motivate and retain top talent within the group
* Keep up with market trends
* Initiate and build client relationships, including value-add idea generation, client meetings/presentations and customized solutions providing trusted advice
* Effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the trading floor
* Liaise with Structured Equity Finance (trading) and other CIBC groups (GCF, Credit, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Client onboarding, etc.) to deliver transactions to clients
Skills / Knowledge Required
* A minimum 10 years in the financial services industry and experience within structured equity finance..
* The ability to cover senior client relationships and develop new accounts.
* Proven revenue generator with established client relationships
* Willing to work extended hours.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Good team player.
* Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Bloomberg, Reuters, EFX Trading Platforms.
* Graduate with relevant business degree.
* PRA/FCA qualified.
