Job overview
The Urology department is delighted to offer an appointment for a urological surgeon with an interest in all treatment options for urinary stones and to establish a Holep service at East Kent Hospitals.
All cases are discussed in a dedicated stone MDT, allowing in‑depth discussion of challenging cases with established stone surgeons. This meeting is supported by stone nurse specialists and a coordinator. Facilities include PCNL, on‑site ESWL and flexible and rigid ureteroscopy.
We seek a specialist to develop a metabolic stones clinic, allied to our renal medicine colleagues, and to introduce a Holep service, currently sent to a neighbouring Trust.
The successful candidate will join a well‑established unit with allied co‑specialties including vascular surgery, 24‑hour cover for interventional radiology and renal medicine on site. The consultant on‑call rota is 1 in 11 with full middle‑grade cover 24‑7. We are happy to consider adapting job plans to accommodate family and home life.
