Job summary
To provide secretarial support to Doctors and Health Professionals including word processing audio typing skills and general clerical work. The role is for 24 hours per week on Mondays Thursdays and Fridays.

Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes typing in an accurate and quality manner of letters, reports, patient referrals and agendas and minutes of Practice meetings.
Making appointments and bookings via Choose and Book referral system.
To establish and maintain administrative systems so that information is easily accessible and secure.
File patient records and correspondence in electronic patient records.
Receive incoming and initiate outgoing calls in order to facilitate timely appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with queries.
Maintain clinical computer records in an accurate and secure manner.
Assist with gathering of statistics and information when required.
To provide cover for the secretarial team during periods of sickness and Annual leave.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
1. GCSE Grade A to C in English & Maths
2. OCR Text Processing Level1 Award (RSA 1)
3. Previous secretarial experience.
Desirable
4. Previous secretarial experience in a Healthcare setting.
