HR Team Manager - Accommodations Team (12 months contract), Disability Leave Services

The Disability & Leave Services Manager provides support to senior leaders and managers within the team/department. They lead a team of Subject Matter Expert Accommodation Consultants to deliver a seamless experience to our customers (Amazon employees seeking workplace adjustments or accommodations for disability or medical reasons). The manager will develop and execute the team's vision and goals, regularly review current processes, and suggest improvements to maximize resource efficiency. They will collect and analyze data to create business cases, influence policy, and manage enhancements. The manager will also act as a Subject Matter Expert for customers, team members, and vendors.
Key job responsibilities
1. Understand and interpret basic legal requirements related to accommodations.
2. Collaborate with external sources to develop interpretations and solutions for complex issues.
3. Perform audits of the team’s work to ensure compliance and quality.
4. Assist in developing and approving guidelines and policies.
5. Develop, review, and implement new policies, programs, and procedures, gaining necessary input and approvals.
6. Advocate for Accommodation Services within the organization.
7. Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
8. Lead small to medium-sized inter/intra-department projects.
9. Investigate discrepancies, identify issues, and implement solutions.
10. Create business cases and manage process enhancements.
11. Present high-quality data findings to stakeholders.
12. Review audit data across multiple departments and geographies, using insights to facilitate systemic change.
13. Deliver quality inputs to achieve end objectives.
14. Remove roadblocks for peers and team members.
15. Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from team members, internal partners, candidates, customers, and leadership.
16. Travel to sites as needed to build stakeholder relationships and support escalations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
* Relevant experience supporting employees with disabilities, leave of absences, HR functions, or employee relations.
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and data extraction from multiple sources.
* Experience managing large teams.
* Experience conducting business reviews.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with HR processes and systems administration.
* Experience with reporting and analytics.
* Knowledge of project management methodologies.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to challenge processes, anticipate issues, and advocate for continuous improvement.
* Effective in influencing small groups and individuals to resolve issues.
* Experience working with international teams across different locations and cultures.
* Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
* Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to prioritize daily workflows and maintain service levels.
* Adaptability to dynamic environments and navigating ambiguity.
