Responsibilities
1. Implement and oversee BSS's safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring appropriate responses to concerns involving children and young people.
2. Serve as the nominated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), providing cover for the Centre Manager, following up on concerns, and liaising with statutory agencies as needed. Assist with online safety and filtering in collaboration with IT providers. Training will be provided.
3. Ensure staff and group leaders understand safeguarding policies and know how to act on concerns.
4. Record and respond to concerns raised by anyone about students, escalating issues to child protection agencies when necessary.
5. Manage medical care oversight, including supervising Medical Officers or Nurses, and providing basic treatment if needed, following medical instructions.
6. Inform catering staff of allergies and dietary requirements.
7. Oversee weekly student feedback and take action if required.
8. Ensure House Parents perform their duties effectively, including welfare checks and emergency procedures.
9. Manage room allocations considering age, nationality, and special requests.
10. Conduct risk assessments and fire drills, addressing health and safety issues.
11. Lead welcome meetings with the Centre Manager to orient students and staff to BSS rules.
12. Participate in performance management alongside the Centre Manager.
13. Assist with pastoral duties like supervision during breaks, mealtimes, or bedtime.
14. Deputise for the Centre Manager when unavailable.
15. Coordinate laundry and maintenance issues with host schools.
16. Delegate daily duties such as capturing videography and photography for social media.

Qualifications
