SEN Teaching Assistant / HLTA (September Start)

We are currently seeking 2 experienced SEN Teaching Assistants / HLTAs to join our team from September, supporting young people across Hertfordshire in both education and alternative provision settings.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role working with pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, including 1:1 mentoring and support both on-site and in community-based activities such as farm projects and alternative learning environments as examples.
The Role
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to young people with SEND/SEMH needs
* Transport pupils to and from agreed locations (e.g. school sites, learning provisions, outdoor activities)
* Support engagement in learning, behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Work across a variety of settings, including:
o Schools
o Alternative provisions
o Outdoor/therapeutic environments (e.g. farm projects)
* Potential opportunity to support at sites in Stevenage and Hitchin
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 1 year’s experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils
* Based in Hertfordshire (able to travel across the county)
* Full UK driving licence with business insurance
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (child workforce essential; child & adult preferred)
* Right to work in the UK
* Ability to provide 2 professional references
* Up-to-date safeguarding training
* Basic / Emergency First Aid certification
Additional Requirements
* Willingness to undergo Health & Safety training (funded for the right candidate)
* Full disclosure of any previous offences prior to interview (for safeguarding risk assessment)
* Ability to provide all safer recruitment documentation in advance of interview
* Candidates must bring original documents to interview:
o Passport
o Driving licence
o Original DBS certificate
Desirable
* HLTA status or equivalent experience
* Experience in alternative provision or outreach mentoring
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Confident working independently in community settings
