Network Engineer – Contract (Inside IR35)

We’re working with a large public-sector organisation undergoing a major IT transformation, and they’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer to play a key role in delivering critical network projects where you will be responsible for creating a new VLAN to migrate all of my client's libraries into infrastructure.
This is a hands-on contract role where you’ll act as a routing and switching SME, supporting both project delivery and escalated BAU activity within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of network projects, including the creation of a new VLAN to migrate library infrastructure
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure in line with best practice
Act as a 3rd line escalation point for incidents, problems, and change
Ensure the network estate remains secure, stable, and high-performing
Work closely with the Head of Network Services and wider IT teams during a period of transformation
Key Technical Skills
VLAN migration and configuration experience at enterprise level is a must have.
Routing & Switching (enterprise-scale environments)
Cisco technologies including Cisco WiFi, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE
Palo Alto firewalls
Infoblox
Strong understanding of network security and performance optimisation
