Sub Agent / Agent - Rail Civils (Structures & Earthworks)
Location: Kent
Rate: £525/day (Umbrella PAYE)
Contract: Ongoing
Pace Infrastructure is supporting a major contractor within a rail framework environment and is looking to appoint an experienced Sub Agent / Agent to support the delivery of structures and earthworks packages across Kent.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on construction professional with strong rail civils experience, comfortable managing complex works in live rail environments from planning through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of structures and earthworks packages
* Plan, sequence, and coordinate works in line with programme & possession constraints
* Produce and review RAMS, WPPs, TBSs, ITPs, and method statements
* Manage subcontractors across:
o Earthworks
o Reinforced concrete
o Retaining walls
o Drainage & associated civils
* Ensure works are delivered safely and in line with rail standards & framework requirements
* Coordinate with stakeholders including client teams and rail partners
* Manage temporary works and interface with design teams
* Drive quality assurance, inspections, and as‑built documentation
* Provide constructability input and resolve on‑site challenges
* Support possession planning (including weekends/nights where required)
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Sub Agent / Agent / Construction Manager within a rail environment
* Strong delivery background in:
o Structures (RC, retaining walls)
o Bulk earthworks
o Drainage
* Experience working within rail frameworks (e.g. Network Rail)
* Strong subcontractor and site team management experience
* Excellent planning, organisation, and documentation skills
* Confident communicator across site, client, and design teams
