Administrative Officer (Supervisor)

The Assessor for Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll (all non-domestic properties in Ayrshire liable for business rates) and the Valuation List (all dwellings in Ayrshire liable for Council Tax).
\n
The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for Ayrshire and is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Register of Electors for East, North and South Ayrshire constituent authorities.
\n
We are offering an exciting opportunity to primarily work within our “Technical Support Unit”, with some involvement in Electoral Registration, subject to operational requirements.
\n
This is a supervisory role, where you will plan, organise, and allocate all administrative tasks required to support the Assessor’s technical team in complying with all statutory duties.
\n
You will supervise, train, and motivate an administrative section, ensuring that all personnel policies and procedures are adhered to.
\n
You should have excellent communication skills, be able to form strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels and have the ability to multitask whilst working under pressure.
\n

Who We Are and What We Do

Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board has been established since 1996 and discharges jointly the functions of North, South and East Ayrshire Valuation authorities.
\n
Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board is a council in its own right, separate from the three Ayrshire Councils, comprising 16 members, elected councilors from each of the three authorities for which the Board has responsibility.
\n
The Board appoints the Assessor who is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Valuation Roll and Valuation List, these are the base documents which are required for the three Ayrshire Councils to in gather non-domestic rates and council tax.
\n
The three Councils have also appointed the Assessor to be the Electoral Registration Officer, responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Register of Electors which is essential for all Parliamentary and Local Government Elections.
