Offer description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team as part of the Urgent Response team at Salford, while studying a fully funded apprenticeship route to gain an MSc in Advanced Practice. The training programme lasts 24 months (MSc), and upon successful completion, the post will progress to Band 8a. The programme is accredited by Health Education England.

We are seeking to recruit a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner with broad clinical experience who is ready to advance their clinical career.

You will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of Urgent Response Advanced Clinical Practitioners, medical, and specialty teams to enhance patient experience through excellent, patient-focused care. Proven broad experience and motivation to assume an ACP role are essential.

The successful candidate will be paid at Band 7. After completing the MSc in Advanced Practice, the candidate will progress to Band 8a.

Please note: Interviews will be held during the week commencing 25th August 2025.

The trainee programme duration varies individually, but is expected to take just over two years for full-time staff. It includes education and clinical practice, with two protected days for university attendance and additional days for training and placements across the organization to develop required knowledge and skills. Regular education and support will be provided by Urgent Response ACPs and consultants, with opportunities to spend time in other specialties.

You will ensure evidence-based practice is integrated into all aspects of care and disseminate this knowledge throughout the clinical area, Trust, and externally as appropriate.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Undertaking a significant clinical caseload to an advanced professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.
2. Developing an extended scope of practice beyond your primary profession.
3. Triage referrals independently or with medical colleagues and make onward referrals.
4. Initiating and participating in audit projects and working alongside the MDT in diagnostic and prognostic research.
