We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) as Head of Commercial. This key leadership role is responsible for sales, account management, marketing, and partnerships. You’ll shape and deliver commercial strategies that support our financial sustainability and grow our global reach and impact. Working closely with the Executive Director and as part of the Executive Leadership Team, you’ll lead a talented team, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure our commercial activities continue to support the scientific community we serve. What you’ll be doing: Leading the commercial function including global sales, renewals, customer engagement, marketing, and distributor/partner relationships. Developing and delivering commercial and business development plans. Supporting revenue growth while ensuring alignment with our charitable purpose. Building strong relationships with users, partners, and stakeholders. Ensuring market insights inform product and service development. Representing the CCDC externally and championing the voice of the user internally. What we’re looking for: A strong track record in commercial or business development leadership, ideally in a scientific or data-focused setting. Experience leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Confidence working across disciplines and balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery. A collaborative, user-focused approach, with the ability to spot and shape new opportunities.
