The postholder will be responsible for supporting the clinical, professional, and educational development of the nursing workforce, including non-registered nursing roles within the service, in line with divisional and Trust priorities and strategies. The postholder will work with the nursing workforce, the wider MDT, divisional and care group leads, and corporate services to enable the development and sustainability of a high-quality nursing workforce at HMP Manchester. They will have expert knowledge and provide clinical leadership, facilitating the application of theory to practice within the clinical setting. This will involve developing training packages to equip our nursing workforce (including non-registered nursing staff) to deliver Best Care, Every Day to patients.
Main duties of the job
To support the nursing workforce across the service to ensure that nursing practice is evidence-based, and that the nursing workforce has access to relevant policies, information, research, guidance, and training to inform their practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
* Postgraduate diploma in teaching or practice education (or equivalent experience)
Additional Qualifications
* Educated to master's degree level or equivalent experience
* Professional Nurse Advocate Qualification
Experience
* Extensive experience working within a prison/secure setting
* Knowledge of HR procedures relating to the NMC code
