Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our enthusiastic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, such as supported living, domiciliary care, and residential care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care, particularly for working age individuals with mental health conditions and other mental health challenges. The Support Worker will play a vital role in promoting independence while ensuring safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including shopping, supervision with medication, and meal preparation.
* Supervise self medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Support clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in mental health or behaviour to the Line Manager.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
* Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping as needed.
* Escort clients to appointments or social activities when required.
* Participate in support plan reviews, completion of risk assessments as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in supported mental health clients in a domiciliary or supported living setting is preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of mental health care practices is highly desirable.
* Completion of Care Certificate.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
* Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients as needed.
* Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus but can be obtained upon hiring.
