This vacancy is for a Content Designer within the Marketing department at York St John University. The Digital Experience team champions accessibility and user experience while applying the university brand and tone of voice. The role is based at our York campus and involves leading the design and development of high quality, accessible content across the website and associated digital channels. You will oversee content style guidelines and manage content publication, contributing to the overall marketing strategy. You may also engage with prospective students and their guardians at events such as Open Days and Decision Days, including occasional Saturdays.
Team
The Digital Experience team includes the Digital Experience Manager, Digital Experience Coordinator, Marketing and Content Coordinator, Systems Developer, and two Content Designers.
The Role
As one of two Content Designers, you will:
* Lead the design and development of accessible website and digital content.
* Oversee content style guidelines and publishing processes.
* Assist in improving user engagement and support the university’s marketing strategy.
* Engage with audiences at Open Days, Decision Days and other events (occasional Saturdays).
Required Skills and Experience
Demonstrable excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage your own workload and that of others. You should be able to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines. Knowledge of website accessibility standards and experience guiding others to use content style guidelines is essential.
