Housing Support Officer – Fixed-Term Maternity Cover (Full‑Time, 37 hrs/week until Oct 2026)
We are looking for an experienced Housing Support Officer to provide intensive, personalised support to customers with a wide range of needs, including complex challenges and multiple forms of exclusion. The role will focus on leading support for customers affected by hoarding behaviours, helping them declutter & organise their homes and develop practical strategies to maintain a safe and manageable living environment.
Responsibilities
* Assess risk and collaborate with in‑house teams and external statutory and voluntary agencies such as Social Care and Probation Services to achieve the best outcomes for customers.
* Work with housing teams to empower customers to sustain their tenancies, improve mental health and achieve positive life outcomes.
* Provide hands‑on, pragmatic support to vulnerable individuals, guiding them to address hoarding behaviours.
* Record interventions accurately and clearly using Microsoft packages.
* Manage caseloads and perform administrative tasks using IT systems.
* Comply with confidentiality, enhanced clearance and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience supporting vulnerable individuals in a hands‑on capacity.
* Strong IT skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and accurate record‑keeping.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Passion, self‑motivation, persistence, and determination to engage clients with complex needs.
* Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
