Housing Support Worker
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
37 hours per week, shift work with some weekends
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join our supportive and values-driven team.
In this rewarding role, you’ll provide person-centred support to individuals living in temporary and shared accommodation—many of whom may be experiencing homelessness, trauma, or complex life challenges. You’ll play a vital role in helping customers build confidence, develop independent living skills, and transition successfully into the community.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering tailored one-to-one support and case management
Creating and reviewing personalised support and risk management plans
Promoting independent living, wellbeing, and financial resilience
Supporting with benefit applications, arrears management, and practical life skills
Working in partnership with local agencies, professionals, and internal teams
Maintaining a safe, secure, and positive living environment
What we’re looking for:
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals—such as those affected by homelessness, mental health challenges, substance misuse, or domestic abuse
Knowledge of housing or social care sectors, including understanding of welfare benefits and tenancy-related issues
Ability to manage a complex caseload, complete assessments, and keep accurate support records
Confident using a coaching or strengths-based approach to engage and motivate service users
Emotionally resilient, compassionate, and able to set clear boundaries
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Basic IT literacy and familiarity with digital tools
This is an opportunity to be part of a mission-led organisation where your work will have a real and lasting impact.
