WHAT TO EXPECT
The Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) is a State-of-the-Art production facility producing the next generation of advanced Electric Propulsion Systems to power the future vehicles of the JLR Brand.
The EPMC manufacture the new JLR Electric Propulsion Systems to enable the next generation of JLR vehicles.
Delivering a premium product, the production operations team will establish, introduce and develop the new technologies to ensure a first-class supply and service to our customers.
The EPMC Maintenance Process Leader oversees the governance maintenance systems & processes within the plant and acts as the change authority to these processes. It also plays a key part in overall operating efficiency improvement actions as well as assisting new production and/or any major production changes.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Overall responsibility for introduction and maintenance of production line equipment, ensuring uptime targets are achieved
2. Leading and managing direct reports in the day-to-day maintenance activities to achieve a zero breakdown goal
3. Working with Manufacturing & Quality Engineering and the machine tool vendors to identify opportunities to improve the uptime and efficiency of the equipment – and ensure issues are identifiedand resolved up front
4. Analyse production performance and identify and prioritise improvement actions and projects for processes, facilities and tooling
5. Work with vendors to analyse equipment failures, plan and implement preventative changes including equipment updates and refurbishments
6. Using external data sources to analyse data to drive strategic maintenance activities, such as FRACAS etc…
7. Lead Kaizen/ CI activities with integrated production and maintenance teams
8. Develop the maintenance strategy for the EPMC ensuring alignment with business policies and vision
9. Lead the EPMC in the global JLR IPS element of TPM
10. Work closely with manufacturing engineers, machine tools vendors, integrated production and maintenance teams across all areas and provide coaching if required
11. Feedback on key issues/lessons learned for future programmes
12. Ensure adequate spares are available to assist the manufacturing function
13. Identify training opportunities for Integrated Manufacturing Technicians (IMT) to create a maintenance team that has the ability to operate as a stand-alone entity, requiring minimal external assistance
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
14. Supervisory skills or Project management skills
15. Experience and knowledge of engine component machining/assembly/testing
16. Ability to utilise preventive maintenance system data from systems such as SAP PM or similar systems
17. An ability to communicate across functional boundaries and at different levels is essential
18. Understands asset management tools and techniques and is able to train to all levels of the organization
19. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, identify issues and solutions using own initiative
20. A customer focussed approach with good organisational skills and has the ability to multi-task
