Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Orchard Park Community School We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development, who is eager to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification. Apprenticeship Overview: Salary: £8.00 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19 year olds Working Week: Monday to Friday - 8.45am - 3.20pm (1 hour lunch break) Hours: 30 hours per week Duration: 18 months Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification Online training supported by our dedicated tutor Location: Ring Fort Road, Cambridge, CB4 2GR What you’ll do at work Throughout the program, you will develop a diverse skill set that will empower you to make a meaningful difference in students' lives. To support the class teacher and the school to facilitate the active participation of a named child who has special educational needs in the academic and social activities of the school. To support the child so that the child is able to fully access the curriculum. To contribute to raising standards of achievement for all pupils. Support for the Child In conjunction with the classroom teacher, adapt lessons to meet the needs of individual children and small groups. Take responsibility for delivering learning activities with the named child and within small groups that include the named child. Establish and maintain supportive relationships with individual pupils, small groups and parents/carers to ensure they understand and can achieve the tasks. Provide learning support to children with significant care needs, or where English is not their first language. Encourage and promote inclusion in the classroom, ensuring the named child alongside others feels involved with tasks and activities.
