Staffordshire County Council is seeking experienced Family Practitioners to join our Family Practitioner Service and Early Help Team in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The role involves working with children and their families across the Tamworth area, providing support and early interventions to positively impact lives.
If you have sound knowledge and experience working with children and families who may have complex needs, you may be suitable. Two fixed‑term posts (12 months) and one permanent post are available. Hours are 37 per week with flexibility, including some evening or weekend work.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead early help assessments and coordinate family meetings to create plans.
* Work with social workers to support children in need, on child protection plans, and in care.
* Conduct home and school visits to deliver direct work with children and families.
* Support mediation, crisis prevention, conflict resolution, and Life Story work.
* Complete accurate documentation, reports, and records within agreed timescales.
Ideal Candidate
* Have an NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families or equivalent, plus experience in this area.
* Be confident taking the lead in facilitating support plans and coordinating multi‑agency roles.
* Provide high support and challenge when needed to ensure positive outcomes and sustained change.
* Be flexible with working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
* Hold a current UK driving licence and vehicle.
