National Account Manager – Wholesale
Location: Holsworthy, Devon (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH)
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus
A growing and well-established food manufacturer is looking to appoint a National Account Manager to develop and manage key wholesale and distributor accounts across the UK.
This is a commercially focused role where the successful candidate will take ownership of major wholesale relationships, driving sales growth across both own-label and branded product ranges while building strong long-term partnerships with key customers.
The Role
The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of national wholesale and distribution accounts. Acting as the main commercial contact, the role will focus on strengthening relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering profitable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and developing key national wholesale and distribution accounts
Full P&L responsibility for the wholesale customer portfolio
Building strong relationships with key buyers and decision makers within wholesale organisations
Developing and delivering joint business plans, promotions, and product launches
Leading negotiations on pricing, terms, and commercial agreements
Managing both branded and own-label product ranges within wholesale channels
Forecasting sales, managing budgets, and analysing performance
Working closely with internal teams including marketing, supply chain, finance, and NPD
Identifying new opportunities to grow distribution and sales within the wholesale channel
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a commercially driven account manager with experience managing wholesale or foodservice customers, and a strong track record of delivering growth within FMCG or food manufacturing.
Candidates should ideally have:
Experience managing wholesale, distributor, or foodservice accounts
A proven track record as a National Account Manager or Account Manager within FMCG
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Experience working with both branded and own-label products
The ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to account development
