What you’ll do on a typical day:
Move trailers safely around the yard using a tug unit, ensuring they are positioned correctly for loading and unloading
o Work closely with Transport Managers, Yard Marshals, and Warehouse Supervisors to coordinate trailer movements and keep the workflow on track
o Maintain a safe working environment by following all site Health & Safety procedures and reporting any hazards immediately
o Assist with general yard organisation, keeping the area tidy and ensuring trailers are logged, positioned, and tracked correctly
What you need to succeed at GXO:
A valid Class 1 driving licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho card
o A clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points (excluding DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements)
o Previous shunting experience – desirable but not essential for the right candidate
o A strong awareness of site Health & Safety standards and the safe movement of vehicles in a busy yard environment
o The flexibility and resilience to work outdoors in all weather conditions
