The Role In this developmental role, you will learn, train and develop into a Logistics Coordinator. This will involve learning import and export processes, transport coordination, and all areas of trade and road haulage compliance. A day in the life of an Apprentice Logistics Coordinator Your day to day responsibilities will include: Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate delivery plans and transport across all sites. Contact delivery sites to understand the requirements of each delivery. Completion of general admin and supply chain activities. Pre-advise the management team of any potential failures in the transport operation, completing the investigation report on delivery issues and highlighting these to the Logistics Team. Understand and co-ordinate the loading requirements for all types of inbound/outbound transport (inc. storage, handling & packaging requirements). Ensure timely import and exports of goods to meet the requirements of Supply Chain and Procurement. Completion of risk assessments and safe work instructions for operational plant over all sites. Coordinate and transfer all goods between Progress Rail UK sites. Completion of project work as required including proposal and implementation of transport management system. Attend and conduct delivery planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Work at other sites as required. Adherence with safety, health, environmental and quality policies and procedures. Flexible and willing to work additional hours where reasonably required. Promote and adhere to the Values in Action. About You Essential Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualification) Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others Good communication skills Being proactive and autonomous when required Good problem solving skills Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to deadlines and targets Willingness to learn Flexible and willing to work additional hours where reasonably required Desirable Good knowledge of MS Office package including Excel Previous admin experience Experience in transport, logistics, importing or exporting Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Whats in it for you Salary: £19,000 We put our people at the heart of our culture.
