We are the Employment, Education Law and Litigation Team. Our team is friendly, supportive, and highly collaborative, creating an environment where you can thrive. We encourage continuous learning and development, offering opportunities to broaden your expertise and even expand your skills into new areas of law. We are seeking to appoint a civil litigation lawyer/senior lawyer and two prosecution lawyer/senior lawyers to join our busy and highly professional legal team practicing in complex civil litigation and local authority prosecution matters. The Team also covers employment law, special educational needs, education law, information governance and elections law.
The main responsibilities of this role are to act as a case holder and, where appropriate, advocate in the County Court, First-tier Tribunal and Magistrates Court, specifically in providing professional legal services in relation to local authority prosecution matters to the Council’s Departments but also in providing professional legal services on matters in other areas of law covered by the Team as may be required. The roles are interesting and varied and will suit people who want to make a contribution to the local area and who are interested in environmental and other issues affecting the lives of the people of the district.
In order to apply you must be a qualified solicitor or barrister entitled to practice in England and Wales or fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with practice rights.
