Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Global Sourcing & Production Management to oversee global procurement, production planning and supply chain logistics for our premium aluminum-based products. This strategic yet operationally involved role will ensure efficient material sourcing, production flow and on-time delivery across Europe, North America and emerging markets.
The ideal candidate thrives in global supply chains, excels in vendor and production management, and can balance long-term planning with daily execution. This role reports directly to senior leadership and will collaborate closely with our Italy-based manufacturing partner and our U.S. logistics operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal Sourcing & Procurement
* Lead sourcing and procurement of key raw materials, including aluminum and packaging materials, from global suppliers (primarily China and other international markets).
* Negotiate and manage supplier relationships to ensure best-in-class pricing, quality and reliability.
* Evaluate and onboard new vendors for both raw materials and finished goods production.
* Monitor global commodity markets to forecast material costs and supply risks.
* Establish and monitor performance metrics (KPIs) across production, procurement, quality and logistics to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
Production Planning & Management
* Oversee day-to-day production operations with our Italy-based contract manufacturer to ensure alignment with demand forecasts.
* Manage material flow to manufacturing partners, ensuring continuity and timely replenishment.
* Establish and manage production schedules for both stock products (to the U.S. warehouse) and custom printed products (for customers in the U.S., Europe and the U.K.).
* Track and optimize manufacturing lead times and output efficiency.
* Safeguard the integrity of Lumi’s products and packaging – ensuring material consistency, aesthetic conformity, and compliance with design specifications.
* Direct quality control systems and continuous-improvement programs that protect consumer trust and brand reputation.
Supply Chain & Logistics
* Develop and manage end-to-end supply chain strategies to ensure consistent product availability across all regions.
* Coordinate international shipping and carrier relationships to balance cost efficiency with delivery performance.
* Oversee global inventory flow and logistics coordination between suppliers, the manufacturing site and distribution centers.
* Align procurement and production schedules to meet sales forecast and inventory targets.
* Ensure Lumi maintains full operational readiness, with all materials, components, and resources secured to meet customer orders on time.
* Build contingency frameworks to mitigate supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity..
* Implement technology and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into inventory, lead times, and order fulfillment performance.
Compliance & Operations
* Ensure sourcing, production and product distribution activities comply with local and international legal and regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with the sustainability team to ensure vendor practices and products meet Lumi’s high standards.
* Maintain thorough documentation for product compliance, safety and import/export needs.
* Partner with finance and operations teams to track landed cost, pricing and logistics budgets.
Strategic Growth & Market Development
* Provide insights and recommendations for expanding the company’s supply chain footprint in alignment with strategic goals.
* Support product development initiatives with sourcing and material feasibility input.
* Ensure integration of eco-conscious materials and processes without compromising design quality or structural integrity.
* Collaborate with product and R&D teams to bring forward new packaging concepts that enhance consumer experience and reinforce premium value.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
* Build strong cross-functional collaboration with product design, marketing and finance to ensure seamless alignment from concept to customer delivery.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
* 8-10 years of progressive experience in global sourcing, supply chain or production management.
* Proven track record managing international suppliers and contract manufacturers.
* Strong understanding of European manufacturing and Asia-based raw material sourcing.
* Experience managing logistics and inventory for multi-market operations.
* Exceptional negotiation, vendor management and analytical skills.
* Hands-on operator with a strategic mindset—comfortable switching between tactical execution and high-level planning.
* Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
* Strong financial literacy and experience in operational budgeting, cost control and capital investment planning.
* Experience leading teams in high-design, brand-driven, or sustainable manufacturing environments preferred.
Location & Travel
Lumi is based in Los Angeles and welcomes both local candidates who would like to work from home or our warehouse office in Burbank, and qualified candidates working elsewhere in the U.S., U.K. or Europe who enjoy a closer proximity to Italy and China.
Some flexibility for travel to Italy, China, the United States, and other key sourcing or distribution regions several times per year is required.
